NIA turns over 2 more irrigation projects to irrigators in Benguet

Two more completed irrigation projects in this province are turned over to the duly organized irrigators’ associations for operation and maintenance in a turnover and acceptance ceremony in Brgy. Daclan, Tublay, Benguet on October 26, 2023.

Both funded under NIA’s Small Irrigation Project (SIP) this CY 2023 and completed earlier this month, the Shekdan Small Irrigation System (SIS) and Belong Sayatan SIS, both located in Brgy. Daclan were turned over to and accepted by the Bodehaw-Shekdan Irrigators’ Association (IA), and Belong Namudan Sayatan Farmers IA, respectively.

NIA, APAYAO PLGU TURN OVER 10 IRRIGATION PROJECTS TO FARMER GROUPS

FLORA, APAYAO - Ten completed (10) irrigation projects in the province are now turned over to the respective Irrigators’ Associations (IA) in a simple ceremony at the NIA-Apayao Irrigation Management Office in Brgy. Poblacion East, Flora, Apayao earlier today, October 12, 2023.

The turn over was led by National Irrigation Administration-CAR’s top official, Regional Manager Benito T. Espique, Jr., Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang represented by Ma’am Marinel Ginez, Apayao Provincial Vice-Governor Remy N. Albano, Municipal Mayor of Pudtol represented by Vice Mayor Randy Laoat and Municipal Mayor of Flora represented by Ma’am Marilou B. Valdez and SB Member Manny Biggayan.

With an overall cost pegged at P 72,577,985.91, these projects currently serve an area of 234 hectares benefitting 191 farmers across four municipalities.

Irrigation system formally turned over to farmers in Itogon, Benguet

NIA-Benguet Satellite Office Head, Engr. Godofredo Velaque and President of the Tinongdan Indigenous Peoples Organization, Inc., Mr. Norberto Pacio, who is also a councilor of Itogon, lead the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Mambolo-Tinongdan Small Irrigation System (SIS) in one of the reservoir tanks of the project during the turnover ceremony on October 6, 2023.

ITOGON, BENGUET – The Mambolo-Tinongdan Small Irrigation System (SIS) will now be operated and maintained by the Tinongdan Indigenous Peoples Organization, Inc. of this municipality after the ceremonial turnover and acceptance held at the barangay hall of Mambolo on October 6, 2023.

Funded under NIA’s Small Irrigation Projects (SIP) amounting to P2.39 million, the Mambolo-Tinongdan SIS irrigates 8 hectares and serves 16 farmer-beneficiaries.

MANKAYAN, BENGUET - The Pasnaan Communal Irrigation System (CIS) is officially turned over to the Lower Cada Farmers Irrigators’ Association for operation and maintenance after the turnover ceremony held in Brgy. Balili of this municipality on September 26, 2023.

The Pasnaan CIS is an existing irrigation system located in Brgy. Balili, Mankayan, Benguet which is funded under the Restoration of Existing Communal Irrigation System (RECIS) with P2.6 million project cost.
