More irrigators groups in CAR gear up for Gulayamanan sa Patubigan

More and more Irrigators’ Associations (IA) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are signing up for the ‘Gulayamanan sa Patubigan’, a convergence program of the NIA and the IAs to utilize auxiliary spaces and canal embankments of communal and national irrigation systems for cultivating various types of vegetables.

Cordillera irrigators train on water savings strategy

Actual field demonstration for the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) Training for West Apayao Abulug Irrigation System (WAAIS) held in June 2025.

A total of 515 farmers who are members of 55 irrigator associations (IA) from Abra, Ifugao, Kalinga and Apayao are now one step forward towards irrigation water savings after attending the training on Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) conducted during the first semester of this year.
