LAMUT, IFUGAO - Members of the irrigators associations (IA) within the Municipality of Lamut train on making smoked fish or more commonly known as "tinapa", particularly for tilapia, at the Sanafe Brgy. Hall, Brgy. Sanafe on October 14, 2025.
Tilapia is the one- town-one- product (OTOP) of the Municipality of Lamut, since fish ponds abound in the different barangays supplied by the Hapid Irrigation System, the lone national irrigation system in Ifugao.
The activity is the first of two series under the Training on Product Development with Ms. Maricel Terrado of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources as resource speaker; series two was conducted on October 17, focusing on packaging and labelling in coordination with the DTI.
This convergence program between the BFAR, DTI and NIA aims to train our Irrigators Associations in developing their products, increase product profitability and empower irrigators to be more competitive.
