Presided by NIA-CAR Regional Manager, Engr. Benito T. Espique, Jr., the turnover developed per NIA Office Memorandum (OM) No. 88, s. 2021 which reassigns Engr. Bustonera as Acting Division Manager of Kalinga IMO, vice Engr. Leonardo A. Lamangen who is returning back to the regional office at the Operations, Institutional and Equipment Section per NIA OM No. 89.

The Low-lying Irrigators' Association in Rizal, Kalinga, CY 2020 Regional Outstanding Irrigators Association under the Communal Irrigation System Category, is not spared by the 'plantdemic' and has included selling various flowers and ornamentals online into the association's strings of money-making ventures. These were planted and grown during the onset and duration of the community quarantines brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

NIA, as implementing agency, represented by NIA-CAR Regional Manager Benito Espique, Jr. turned over the symbolic handwheel of irrigation canal steel gate to the Department of Agrarian Reform, as funding agency, represented by Chief Agrarian Reform Officer Geraldo Alcantara. NIA plants trees to celebrate 58th founding anniversary

Employees of the National Irrigation Administration-Cordillera Administrative Region (NIA-CAR) planted 2,000 fruit and forest tree seedlings all over the region during the agency’s synchronized tree planting activity on June 25, 2021.

The tree planting activity is being conducted by NIA in June of each year as part of the agency’s founding anniversary. This year’s tree planting was conducted during the Arbor Day, June 25.
