Provincial Governor Melchor Diclas and NIA Benguet Satellite Office Provincial Head Godofredo Velaque together with the Irrigators’ Association President Leonardo Pio and Barangay Chairperson Dalmaia Dino led the ribbon-cutting of the turnover ceremony of the Buo Salat Gumbao Small Irrigation Project in Brgy. Concrete lining is currently ongoing along canals of the Upper Chico River Irrigation System (UCRIS), the largest irrigation system in the region. About 3.63 kilometers of main canal and two kilometers along the laterals are targeted to be concrete lined this irrigation cut-off period.

Various improvement and repair activities are currently being implemented this irrigation cut-off at the Upper Chico River Irrigation System (UCRIS) in Kalinga and Isabela areas as part of the programmed activities this CY 2022.

Various stakeout surveys are already being conducted by the NIA together with the farmer-beneficiaries and contractors to identify locations of facilities to be constructed or improved which are programmed within CY 2022 irrigation projects.
