Concrete lining is currently ongoing along canals of the Upper Chico River Irrigation System (UCRIS), the largest irrigation system in the region. About 3.63 kilometers of main canal and two kilometers along the laterals are targeted to be concrete lined this irrigation cut-off period.

Various improvement and repair activities are currently being implemented this irrigation cut-off at the Upper Chico River Irrigation System (UCRIS) in Kalinga and Isabela areas as part of the programmed activities this CY 2022.

Various stakeout surveys are already being conducted by the NIA together with the farmer-beneficiaries and contractors to identify locations of facilities to be constructed or improved which are programmed within CY 2022 irrigation projects.

The main diversion canal of the Upper Chico River Irrigation System (UCRIS), the largest irrigation system in the region, flows towards the service areas in Kalinga and Isabela. The irrigation system will have its cut-off on April 17, 2022 to June 17, 2022.

Irrigation water cut-off will be implemented in all of the four National Irrigation Systems (NIS) in the region after this dry cropping season.
