FLORA, APAYAO - Two more Irrigators' Associations (IA) of this municipality signed Marketing Agreement with Aguda Fruits, Vegetables and Grains Trading that will procure their farm produce on a regular basis.
The Timpuyog ti Malubibit Sur IA headed by its president, Condrado Umoso, and Brgy. Allig FIA represented by President Danilo Ursulum signed the agreement with Ms. Glenjoyce Aguda, owner of the Aguda Fruits, Vegetable and Grains Trading on November 14, 2022. Engr. Samuel Bahiwag, Apayao Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager, served as one of the witnesses.
The agreement provides that the IAs will produce the required volume of palay/corn ordered for procurement by Aguda Fruits, Vegetables, and Grains Trading.
The Timpuyog ti Malubibit Sur IA maintains and operates the Malubibit Communal Irrigation System (CIS) while the Brgy. Allig FIA is one of the IAs of the ongoing Marimay Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) located in the municipality.
Earlier on September 1, 2022, the same establishment signed the agreement with the Northern Malubibit Farmers IA of Brgy. Malubibit Norte represented by its president, Mr. Dennis Dumaoal.
The marketing agreement is in line with the program Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) of the national government with the goal to mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in the urban and rural communities.
NIA, as one of the supporting agencies, assists irrigators' associations (IAs) and link them to other partner agencies or organizations as direct suppliers, for credit or other related support services.
