NIA-CAR inaugurates new buildings in Isabela

QUEZON, ISABELA - Employees of the NIA Kalinga Irrigation Management Office (IMO) will now have a more conducive work environment in Quezon, Isabela with the completion of the NIA KIMO Quezon Sub-Office as well as a Lodging and Staff House both located in Brgy. Arellano of this municipality.

Inauguration of these two newly constructed buildings on March 25, 2024 was led by NIA-CAR Regional Manager Benito Espique, Jr., Quezon, Isabela Mayor Jimmy Gamazon, Jr., and UCRIS Quezon-Mallig Federation of Irrigators’ Association President Francisco Andumang.

The new one-storey NIA KIMO Quezon Sub-office which measures about 540 square meters houses a manager’s office, a conference room, 6 other offices for cashiering, administrative and finance, as well as a stock room.

Meanwhile, the one-storey Lodging and Staff House of about 636 square meters has four units, each of which has three bedrooms, kitchen, living area, dining area and common CR.

NIA-CAR Regional Manager Espique, Jr. said the the new buildings serve as inspiration for better NIA service to its clients especially the farmer-irrigators.

The regional manager also thanked the Municipal Government of Quezon, Isabela for donating the one-hectare area on which the new buildings were constructed, and all their support to the projects and programs of the agency.

Quezon Mayor Jimmy Gamazon, Jr. shared the MLGU is doing all its efforts for the benefit of their constituents, coordination and convergence activities with government agencies such as the tripartite agreement with the NIA and IA for better co-management of UCRIS in the area, and boost irrigation development.

The Upper Chico River Irrigation System (UCRIS), the largest irrigation system under the responsibility of NIA-CAR, has service areas in Tabuk and Pinukpuk, Kalinga, and Quezon and Mallig, Isabela.
