Irrigators’ groups in two Ifugao towns forge agreement to trade agri products

The WAGUFI Irrigators’ Association (IA) of Brgy. Mabatobato, Lamut, and Mangingihi Impugong Ap-apid IA (MIAPIA) of Poblacion, Tinoc of Ifugao sign Marketing Agreement to trade rice and tilapia of Lamut, and vegetables of Tinoc as NIA, LGU and MAO officials served as witnesses.

Two irrigators’ associations in two municipalities of Ifugao will soon be bartering their agricultural products.

This developed after the signing of Marketing Agreement between the WAGUFI Irrigators’ Association (IA) of Brgy. Mabatobato, Lamut, and Mangingihi Impugong Ap-apid IA (MIAPIA) of Poblacion, Tinoc yesterday, February 29, 2024 at the Office of Tinoc Municipal Mayor.

Both parties agreed that MIAPIA will be procuring rice and tilapia products of the WAGUFI IA, while the WAGUFI IA will be procuring vegetable produce of the MIAPIA. Lamut is a rice and tilapia producing municipality while Tinoc is a vegetable producing town.

The signing of the agreement was witnessed by the staff of NIA-Ifugao headed by Provincial Head Patrick Resurreccion, LGU-Tinoc, Municipal Agriculture Office, Barangay Captain of Poblacion, Tinoc.

The agreement is in line with the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), one of the convergence programs of the national government with the goal to mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in the urban and rural communities.
