To facilitate the implementation and management of irrigation programs and projects, the (re) organization, registration and development of farmer-beneficiaries (Irrigators’ Associations) were continually undertaken regionwide. Trainings, conferences and workshops were also executed for the IAs as well as the NIA Institutional Development staff.
As of December 2021, a total of 1,584 IAs were organized and 1,584 IAs registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the region—59 in the NISs, 1,323 in the CISs, 199 in the SIS/SIP and 3 in the SRIS/SRIP. These IAs have total members of 107,196 farmers with total area coverage of 84,069.22 hectares. (See Table on Overall IDP and IMT Accomplishment for the breakdown of these figures.)
