Multi-purpose. Irrigation water from the Tabuk Supply Canal 1 of Upper Chico River Irrigation System (UCRIS) in Tabuk City, Kalinga passes through the penstock pipe and turbines of Bulanao Hydroelectric Power Plant (BHEPP) generating about .800 megawatt of power then redirected to the irrigation canal towards the ricefields.

Reduces electricity rates. Improves power quality. Aids distribution utility to comply with energy law.

 National Irrigation Administration (NIA) conducted the first synchronized blood-letting activity December 9, 2019 in celebration of the birthday of its top official, NIA Administrator, Gen Ricardo R Visaya (Ret) whose birthday is on December 8.

Mr. Jay Tulfo, one of the farmer-beneficiaries of Demet Communal Irrigation System in La Paz, Abra, proudly shows the efficient and abundant flow of water in the irrigation canal after the completion of concrete canal lining.

La Paz, Abra—Rice farms in Brgy. Poblacion now have more efficient and increase in the flow of irrigation water after the repair of the Demet Communal Irrigation System in this town.

This was according to Mr. Leo Siganay, one of the 45 farmer-beneficiaries who are now tilling 106 hectares service area of Demet CIS.
