Cervantes is Division Manager of Kalinga IMO

Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes now heads Kalinga Irrigation Management Office (IMO), after Gen Ricardo R Visaya (Ret), NIA Administrator, signed his appointment as Division Manager A in July.

In a simple management turnover ceremony on July 22, NIA-CAR Regional Manager Benito T. Espique, Jr. facilitated the transfer of responsibility of Kalinga IMO from Engr. Patrick N. Resurreccion who was then Acting Division Manager for almost two years to Engr. Cervantes.

Engr. Cervantes first entered the portals of NIA in 1986 as Engineering Assistant B of Benguet Provincial Irrigation Office (PIO) which was then under the wings of NIA-Region 1. Four months after NIA-CAR was created in 1993, he was appointed as Engineer A of Benguet PIO as co-terminus to the project under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program-Irrigation Component (CARP-IC). In 2003, he was promoted to a permanent position as Senior Engineer B, and was designated as head of the Benguet PIO Engineering Section and Assistant to the Provincial Irrigation Officer.

When the NIA Rationalization Plan was implemented in 2008, he was appointed as Senior Engineer A and designated as Provincial Coordinator of Benguet Satellite Office, which is now under the direct supervision of the NIA-CAR Regional Office, and at the same time designated as Regional Coordinator for CARP-IC projects.

In 2014, Engr. Cervantes transferred to NIA-Region III where he was appointed as Supervising Engineer A and was designated as head of the Planning and Design Section as well as Head of Bulo Small Reservoir Irrigation Project in Bulacan. In March 2018, he came back to NIA-CAR and was consequently designated head, Engineering Section of Kalinga IMO until his recent appointment as Division Manager.

Engr. Cervantes graduated with the degree Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Virgin Milagrosa Educational Institute in San Carlos, Pangasinan in 1985. He graduated with another degree, Bachelor of Science in Sanitary Engineering, from University of Baguio (UB) in 1992. Later in 2001 at UB, he was conferred with Master in Public Administration.

Meanwhile, Engr. Resurreccion returned to mother station, NIA-Ifugao Satellite Office as provincial head, vice Engr. Jone D. Dulnuan who is now head of the Engineering Section of Kalinga Irrigation Management Office.

Management Turnover was conducted at the NIA-Ifugao Satellite Office in Brgy. Banting, Lamut, Ifugao on August 20, 2019. NIA-CAR Regional Manager, Engr. Benito T. Espique, Jr., and Engineering and Operations Division Manager, Engr. Bradley Grospe facilitated the turnover ceremony. #Mylene Malecdan
